Implements statutory protections afforded to members of armed services in 10 U.S.C. § 1034 for members of the Coast Guard. Protects:
(a) lawfully communicating with a Member of Congress or an Inspector General;
(b) making or preparing to make a protected communication under 33 C.F.R. § 53.3 [communicating information that a member of the Coast Guard reasonably believes evidences a violation of a law or regulation (including sexual harassment or discrimination), gross mismanagement, a gross waste of funds or other resources, an abuse of authority, or a substantial and specific danger to public health or safety. |
